JUST A SMALL TOWN GIRL LIVIN' IN A LONELY WORLD{ she took the midnight train goin' anywhere }if nicholette reminded herself one more time to never go on a shopping spree by herself, she'd start feel overly-bad about the situation. then again going alone was nice because if the opposite person had less or more money than you on their spree budget, there was no guilt. but the downside was she didn't have an advice on anything she'd just bought and was generally feeling socially deprived by this point and quite ready to go home. yet she still had three more stores to go to on her 'to-go' to list as well as a good deal more money on her budget she had given herself. and she was more than hoping for a promotion in the area of her job expertise later in the week once word spread about the piece cameron was letting her do about the photo shoot. although the side notes he kept saying about her 'schedule' was getting annoying.
nikky waited patiently at the cash register of the store she had just bought some shoes she'd been eyeing for ages, and waited for them to ring it up and stuff it in a tacky over sized bag. she really could never understand why stores stuffed small things into large bags, for the advertising maybe? who really knew. although this kid at the counter, obviously a couple years younger than nikky, with the fake silver plastic and rather beat up looking name tag on her uniformed vest stating her name was 'nichole' - what a coincidence in the names department. the tag also stated this 'nichole' girl would be 'happy to be of service' with even a cute little yellow smiley sticker next to that.
studying the girl though, 'nichole' obviously wasn't too in the mood to be happy of anything. she was actually rather a drawback just from looking at her. for one she had a million and a half zits on her face, easy for even something as cheap as clear away to get rid of. then that look of disgust and a slight grimace was worse, with lip gloss smeared across her lips, mouth - and cheeks? and not once had she yet to make eye contact with even a fly, somehow finding a way out of looking at anything. including the customer.
"hey you. want your stuff or what? move it. there's a line." 'nichole' looked ready to beat nikky with her eyes. nikky just raised her eyebrows and shook her head snapping out of wonder-world, she hovered a little bit more, easing on more annoyance to the 'nichole' chick and checking to make sure she wasn't ripping off the purchases. glancing back up nikky rolled her eyes and grabbed the bag, balancing the other large bag in her other arm, still checking the receipt heading out the store to the very outside to head across the street for another round of shops.

♫ I Wanna Hear Some Music I Wanna Hear Some Music Now That They Are Driving Us All Underground Now That They Are Driving Us All Underground ♪ It had only been a million times that Mason told Eli he needed to come home straight after school before he could go out. It was one of the few ways Mason acted like Eli's father. Eli saw no point in all in having to skate all the way to their dingy apartment just to check in and then go straight back out. It wasn't like he even dropped off his backpack. No, he carried that around with him because it was where he kept his spray paint and made stealing much easier. Although he has a knack for stealing. He could walk in with just a pair of semi-baggy jeans on and a plain shirt and walk out two minutes later with a new pair of jeans and two shirts. It wasn't a skill most people would be proud of but it came in handy often.
Once again today, Eli had lounged around town before going home and Mason had called once already but he ignored it. He just figured he could get there quickly and then say he stayed late at school to ask for a tutor. Mason would like that story. He probably wouldn't buy it but Eli could talk his way into mellowing his brother out and getting him out of his father-mode. So Eli skated his board at a steady rate, pushing every now and then when he started to slow. He cut off cars and gave them the bird when they honked at him. He weaved through the crowd without any regard for them really. He skated past a hot dog vendor and pushed again but then he saw a huge crack in the sidewalk and would send him flying if he hit it. He steered to the side but suddenly there was a girl with some bags in his way. He tried to steer out of her path but clipped her and flew off his board. He felt his knee hit the concrete and his hands reach out in front of him. His knee throbbed but his hands were fine, years of skating and monkey bars as a kid had made the skin tough.
Eli turned around and grabbed his board. "Next time get out of the way." He growled at the girl.

JUST A SMALL TOWN GIRL LIVIN' IN A LONELY WORLD{ she took the midnight train goin' anywhere }nikky kept stopping in her tracks here and there because the receipts from the visited stores had to be lying. those damn moschino heels - which she had made sure were on sale - somehow managed to still be over one hundred fifty, eliminating half her budget. then the money she just spent was another quarter plus the parts she'd gotten before. in all she only had fifty dollars left that she was allowing herself to spend. that, for anything good, was enough to get her a cheap headband and maybe - just maybe a half priced vintage skirt. but she had know idea where to find a food store with those steals in a city like los angeles. then again it was los angeles.
nikky was about to stop again, but she felt a rush close to her and turned in time to see someone almost knocking into her, clipping her, causing her to stumble and almost lose all her things - aside from the new items she'd just bought which were now quite horridly on the ground - and then rudely saying next time she should watch where she was going. nikky had a couple problems with this kid. one, he was the one on the skateboard so he was the one that should have been looking out. two, she had no sympathy because he'd just made her drop her newly bought items, also part of her job which she was an inch closer to become permanent in, not an intern and if he messed it up she'd kill him. which was three. four, he needed manners. five, somewhere she had read that if a moving vehicle such as an auto, were to run someone over like the kid almost had, they could be sued. and a board like his had to count. in her mind.
grumbling, nicholette picked up the fallen stuff, and attempted a glare-gone-wrong over at him. she didn't mind, at all that he was rather good looking. his personality, or what she'd seen of his personality for the past five seconds, was a real turn off. so the only thing that was stopping her from yelling at him right now were his looks, fortunate really. "i'm sorry - next time i'm wandering like a carefree pedestrian i'll make sure to look both directions while i take each new step."
she said it rather sarcastically and crossed her arms. [/blockquote][/blockquote] DON'T STOP BELIEVING HOLD ON TO THAT FEELING{ streetlights people don't stop believing }TAGGED eli WORDS who knows. TEMPLATE PANIC! ITS LAUZ @ CAUTION NOTES --

♫ I Wanna Hear Some Music I Wanna Hear Some Music Now That They Are Driving Us All Underground Now That They Are Driving Us All Underground ♪ Eli took a second to look at his victim and noticed he hadn't hit just anyone, but a very cute girl. The look of annoyance on his face was instantly replaced by a lopsided smirk and a spark of mischief in his eyes. The situation just got a little more interesting.
"I'm glad you've learned your lesson then." He joked. "My bad though really." He then said. He wasn't really sorry though because hitting her was now an opportunity to chat with her. He started gathering what he had made her drop and help her get everything together for her. "I'm Eli. I'd be happy to help ya take this stuff to your car if ya want." He offered, and when he flashed his charming, boyish grin he was pretty sure he'd get a yes. That was The Eli Monroe Dulcos charm. He was just the right amount of cocky but sweet to get the girls.

JUST A SMALL TOWN GIRL LIVIN' IN A LONELY WORLD{ she took the midnight train goin' anywhere }the guy's quick switch of annoyance to charm was unpleasant for some reason, maybe because it was so obvious that something had clicked in his mind - whatever that was exactly. yet his charm was definitely not that bad and quite welcome. it was nice to see a little bit of that kind of a characteristic anyway. especially for a break from that 'nichole' girl back in the store who had been the opposite of what nikky was facing right now. plus the guy was cute, she had to hand it to him.
he also seemed to know how to use all those factors in the small time since his little crash into her. nice to meet you eli. she didn't bother giving her own name, if he wanted to know he could simply ask, and apparently it wasn't in his interest to do so at the current time. either that or he was simply so wrapped up in whatever had just come over him that he was forgetting to.
glancing over to the other stores which she had originally planned to go to, then over to her car a little ways a way, she quickly made up her mind before she looked like she was stalling and looking awkward standing there, sure, i could use a hand. she smiled as he helped pick up the stuff, still slightly perplexed over the situation.
