valentine's day. who created it to begin with? was there a such thing as love? cooper couldn't find any prove that there was love in the world, and giving it, it's own holiday seemed a bit ridiculous in his head. he knew that there at to be people around the world that thought about it the same way he did. he couldn't be the only one in the world that thought of the day to be a waste of time could he? he was positive he wasn't, but none the less he found himself getting dressed to go to some thing the elders had planned. in happy, you never ever seemed to know what was going to happen when old people ran it. it was something you had to ease into, because in truth he knew not all towns were like happy. happy was a special town that had old woman running around parading everyone's business and seemed to be in the need to know of all the drama. he wasn't sure why happy was the only town like it, but he knew it could be worse there could have been more and been bigger. he knew that he was suppose to remain positive about tonight and have a good time. that was all he wanted from tonight. he got out of the shower before wrapping the towel around his waist and moving to his closest. he wasn't sure how well things were going to go. but he was sure it couldn't get any worse because he hadn't seen molly in a while and well he hoped him and calico got paired together. he got dressed somewhat slowly before grabbing his wallet, and phone and sliding them into his pocket. he was going to grab something to eat, and well he decided to drive instead of walking. it was of better for the environment yes, but for the most part he didn't care knowing he was having a craving for a cigarette but left them at his home. that wasn't something he wanted the elders telling everyone he was going to die of lung cancer or something along those lines. it was a risk of course, he knew this but didn't want people to look at him different than they already did. he used to blend into the background, and wanted to remain thinking he still did, but it didn't look as if that was going to happen. he reached a fast food place before pulling up into a parking space, and getting out. he wasn't going to take the risk of dropping bits and pieces of food in his car knowing it was his 'baby' in many many ways. he opened the door to the fast food place smelling the smell of fries cooking, and burgers being made. he moved to the ordering counter and stood behind a young girl.
the small girl occasionally turned around and smiled at cooper than turn around pretending nothing happened. cooper smirked at her before looking around trying to find something to focus his attention. he knew the girl was giggling but wasn't paying attention that another girl made her way under the rope and moved next to her. she looked up at him before staring him down and going back to what they were looking at. the line moved slowly, but he wasn't in all that big of a rush. he waited behind the girls letting them order there food taking at least five minutes each to finally decide what they were ordering. he wasn't sure where there parents were but wasn't going to be one of those people that were all where are your parents. it might be some guy's maternal nature, but it wasn't his. he ordered his food without evening thinking or seconding guessing it knowing exactly what he wanted. they handed him his food with a smile, and he decided to sit down at a table before the girls came and sat down with him. he was biting into his burger and didn't want to waste the bite. after chewing the piece of meat in his mouth he wiped his face before looking at the pair, " can i help you two?" the first girl was eating a french fry while the other stared at cooper. "our mommy left us here, and we're waiting. can we wait with you?" cooper looked at them waiting to bluntly say no, and he didn't have a choice considered they sat down. but he couldn't be mean to them, he wasn't sure why but just couldn't. soon enough he began to have small talk with the two girls before a blond young woman came into the place and the girls got up and moved toward her. he turned around in his seat to see the girl and smiled lightly and nodded before going back to finishing his fries. he only had a few left, so it wasn't all that bad though he wouldn't have minded it a little bit longer. they were cute in the sense of being a child, and well maybe he wouldn't have been such a bad father. he wasn't sure, and wouldn't ever get the chance to try so shrugged it off knowing he had to be focused on what he was doing, and where he was going.
he took the tray and dumped it before moving to his car, and pulling himself into the drivers seat. he wasn't sure exactly if that was supposed to be a sign of anything just figured it was just the nice thing to do. he blew it off before heading to the place where the thing was held for the valentine's day. he drove down to the place before parking his car and sighing as he got out. he wasn't sure what was going to happen, but he was going to wait and see. he saw the decorations and thought it was good looking. they out did themselves this year it seemed. walking through the door one of the elders stopped him, "cooper prince, it's been years since we've seen you around here. here's your ticket go find the other half for your partner." the old woman gave him his ticket before he could protest or say anything in return. other half, what was this nonsense? he thought he got to pick his partner but maybe someone had his name and bought the ticket for him? whatever the case was he was a bit scared to see who his real partner was. he looked down at the red ticket looking around for someone he knew that maybe just maybe had the same number.. then he saw molly james. could she really have the rest of the numbers, he was praying and hoping she didn't but he would have to see. walking up slowly to her he looked at her, "you couldn't happen to have the other half of this ticket would you?" he was crossing his fingers hoping she didn't but only time would tell.
