he’d left her a message, too meet him on the school grounds. it was a surprise really, he hadn’t said anything about what they were to do today. just a simple “meet me at the oak tree at eleven xD” text message. he’d arrived here a bit earlier, something relatively unknown for him. spencer was always late, to everything. even a few of his and kimberly’s dates. she probably expected him to be late. but for some reason, if for absolutely no reason at all, he kind of wanted to make today special. it wasn’t a holiday, nor their anniversary, just another day. average saturday. spencer had checked and double checked that neither of them had anything to do today. he was so careful. he just wanted things to be nice and … kind of perfect really. believe it or not, but spencer was a bit of a secret romantic actually. he wasn’t sure what it was about him, but he loved surprises. especially surprising others. he wanted to be spontaneous, and usually, when he really, really liked a girl, it wasn’t hard to do. and things were going so good with him and kimberly, insanely good actually. a bit abnormally good, and though most people would say this was around the time in a relationship where they’ve reached their peak – when they’ve become so happy, and comfortable around each other, that something was bound to happen to break them apart – but spencer was optimistic. and everything was so insanely new, and different with kimberly. he was – falling pretty deep actually, and he wasn’t even going to bother attempting to stop himself anymore. this would probably be about as serious a relationship he’d ever been in, and as crazy and overwhelming as that might have sounded to him, he was strangely okay with entering it with kimberly. she was kind of worth it.
and so, in a way, kim was kind of fixing him up. such responsibility in this little surprise picnic of his, something he never would have bothered with before. the boy was such an absolute slacker, lazy really, in so many ways. but then again, although he’d put so much effort into this little outing, nothing had really changed – schoolwork wise. he’d never really focused much in high school, and it was pretty much the same in college. the only problem was – there was way more work, especially in his sophmore year. in short, he wasn’t doing the greatest in any of his classes. at least, in high school, he was able to fake it, and get a quick passing grade, even if it wasn’t to the best of his ability all the time. but college was so different, and he couldn’t say this as a good thing really. he'd done terribly in his first year of it, and it was only getting worse the longer he stayed. spencer was much too irresponsible to be able to handle so much at a time. and he didn’t really care much for any of his classes. and he wasn’t saying this as a bad thing, or anything like that. he wasn’t about to drop out. but he hadn’t wanted to go to college in the first place. he still wasn’t sure what he wanted to do with his life, let alone want to take four courses about the damn thing. he figured, he just wanted to make music. but his mother wouldn’t allow him to just not go to college. she rather threw a fit about it actually, shouting about how he would be wasting his life and all that nonsense. and spencer hated letting people down, so she’d talked him into the entire idea, and before he’d known it, he’d signed himself up. still, he wasn’t so sure how he was going to be able to get himself out of this one without some actual hard work which, he was pretty positive, wasn’t ever going to happen. so maybe, he’d drop out?
he laid out a blanket under the shade of the tree, a nice red and white checkered one – it was a classic. then he put down the lunch bag, filled with juice, the odd fruit or two, Gushers, fruit loops cereal and a bunch of delicious and nutritious peanut butter and jelly sandwiches – which by the way, he’d made all by himself. the sandwiches looked a little sloppy, but hey, it was the thought that counted after all right? he took a seat on the blanket and waited. hopefully, she’d be here soon. he was hungry.

hold your breath til we cross the sundown, THIS IS THE MOMENT, TIME IS RACING, SLOW IT DOWN. ew, this was gross, throwing up all the time, it was like her stomach was coming out of her mouth, she had to admit this part of the pregnancy wasn't giving her much advantages. her mother was starting to get worried about her and didn't know what to do as she kept throwing up all the time. when her mother asked her if she wanted to go to the doctor, she just shook her head, she actually didn't need one, she already knew what was wrong with her, she just didn't want anyone to know, well sicily knew but that's a whole different story, she just needed to tell spencer. she knew he would freak out a bit, she knew he wasn't turned to the whole responsibilities kind of person, it just to hard for him. she knew something was bound to happened, there was nothing that would last forever but death and happiness couldn't last forever. she sit on her bed as she heard her phone go off, she knew it must be him, he was actually the only one that called her anyway. she bit her lower lip reading the text, she was gonna do it and actually tell him, she needed to tell him what was going on, he had the right to know no more hiding the sooner she told him the quickly she could know what we was standing in all of this, she was almost sure she was gonna end up hurt in the end, but she wasn't going to give up, she was going to keep the baby even if he didn't want her to have them, she just couldn't handle to kill the poor unborn child in her belly. she smiled closing her phone as she saw it was still only ten. she got up and walked over to her big mirror that would show all her body. she put her hand on her belly and just imagine how big it will grow, she gave it a little smile as she picture spencer there for her, with his hand on her belly, it would be the most wonderful feeling in the world, if it wasn't a dream, she opened her eyes only to face the hard reality that he wasn't there.
she sighed hard as she walked over to her bathroom and took a quick shower and got ready to meet hi, she was curious why he was being so spontaneous, so sweet to call her out to a date they didn't plan at all. she smiled somehow in the middle of all of her scared state, but she was happy he took the advantage and asked her out. but the oak tree? this has to be the awkward place he asked her to met him in a long time, she had to admit it she had the feeling it was going to be very romantic, and she loved romantic, and when spencer pulled the romantic on her, she would 'fall' in his arms like teddy bear! she giggled as she she left her house going over to her car, as she was reaching her car, she felt like she was going to faint, she hated when this happened, it was like she was going to fall on the ground, it was so annoying sometimes she just wanted to make her want to fall. kind of confusing but in kim's mind it was something completely normal. she finally got her thoughts in place as she got into her car and finally drove off to the college campus. she remembered that they had a date there once, they had their first kiss there and he asked her to be his girlfriend there, so maybe that was a good karma for her to say that they were going to have a baby there? right? maybe? not? well kim had all of those thoughts running through her mind not really knowing what she should do. she finally parked in the school parking lot, looking around no one was around, she sighed in relief and smiled as she got out of the car taking only her phone with her because if she was with spencer she wouldn't need anything else. she smiled to herself trying to hide the frowning she should have in her lips.
she started to walk towards where he said she would met him as she could feel her heart beat faster each time. she was going to ruin the most romantic gesture spencer ever did to her but she had to tell him before it was too late. she looked over to him and smiled sitting next to him. "hey!" she said in her best happy tone she could, she couldn't fake it much, she could feel the smell of the sandwishes creeping through her nose making her nauseous once again. she gluped hard trying to forget about the feeling creeping in. taking a deep breath she just looked to him and kissed his cheek. "a pic-nik? my spencer is soo romantic!" she said with a smile, a little bit more convincing or at least she thought it would be.

he twiddled his thumbs, intersecting them together and whistling mildly to himself. he waited for kimberly. he was usually a pretty patient person actually, usually went with the flow no matter the situation. but he was as anxious as a turkey on thanksgiving waiting for kimberly today. but maybe, that was just his excitement getting the best of him. he really just wanted to see her today, really wanted to see her face when she saw his little surprise. would she expect something like this? actually, maybe the more important question here, was why he was getting so damn excited over this little get-together of theirs? it was just an ordinary day, an ordinary girlfriend – just one of the many he’d had before. spencer had always been a bit of a – speed dater. he could never find a girlfriend that appealed to him for longer than a few months. four tops. kim and him were rounding the noble three month mark so far. it was going good – too good, as he’d already figured out. even though he focused on the present - he’d always been the impulsive type. somehow though, he kept waiting out for the time when he’d get bored with kimberly, as he did with all the other girls. the time he’d get distracted, take off with another girl just to switch things up, or even break things off out of a pure whim. he figured he wasn’t the only one, a few of his friends had asked him the other day why it was taking so long. but the time had yet to come. he’d yet to actually get properly distracted. so the question really, why did he care so much?
what was this girl doing to him? he was so unnecessarily – happy right now. it was rather emasculating. he needed to stop thinking about her all the time. no kim no kim, pretty bird? kim might like that bird. he should ask her if she was a bird person. he knew she liked dogs, she had one. but was she a bird person? then, he could see her as she turned the corner. he could see her coming and he grinned lazily, waiting for her to arrive at the picnic set up of his. there was something a little off, about her greeting. the ill sounding “hey!” touching an irregular octave. but he pushed it to the side, not saying anything out of pure politeness, perhaps hope that there was nothing wrong afterall. spencer didn’t want to ask unnecessary questions – even if he could tell things weren’t exactly as they should be. but, the big smile on her face when she saw him, had to mean something right? ”hey there kimberlyy” he said, leaning around her as she sat down to kiss her swiftly on the lips. he smiled, unabashed when she complimented on his “romanticism”. he shrugged trying to blow it off as nothing. ”yeah well, I try” he said with a mild chuckle. ”I made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, all by myself I might add. worked pretty hard on that. and ther--” he began, before cutting himself off. again, there was something off in her smile, the way she was speaking. she was keeping something from him, he could tell. it was a mild sort of – block in the atmosphere. at least, on her end there was. and being the insanely curious type of guy he was, he instantly felt the need to figure it out.
he figured, he probably had nothing to do with whatever was going on in her head. he hadn’t done anything, had he? spencer thought back quickly, but couldn’t think of anything in particular that he’d done to piss her off. and he figured, if he had in some way, she probably would have simply stood him up today. or else, came in yelling at him to begin with. not have bothered with the pretense that everything was alright when it obviously wasn’t. still, girls were complicated things. he could never really understand them, so maybe, she was pissed off at him for some reason or other? only one way to really figure out, although, he rather hoped he was right in thinking that it didn’t have anything to do with him. he’d been so excited about this damned lunch, that the whole fact that she didn’t seem very happy at that moment was making him uneasy. his eyebrows came together in confusion. ”but – first tell me whats wrong.”

hold your breath til we cross the sundown, THIS IS THE MOMENT, TIME IS RACING, SLOW IT DOWN. 'spencer, i'm pregnant!', 'spencer, we are going to have a baby', 'spencer, you're going to be a daddy!', 'hey guess what baby, we are going to have a baby', 'hey, what do you feel about babies? i have one growing inside of me!', 'yay yay yay, we are going to have a baby baby babay!', yeah those were the ways kim had rehearsed to tell spencer he was going to be a dad all of those just made her saw spencer get up and leaving her, she was pretty much going to get stuck with this, it wasn't going to work at all, but she had to tell him, she had to. this kept grumbling on her mind, over and over again, of how she could tell him without him getting spooked at her? well that will spencer was going to be hard, very hard. she kissed his lips back letting a small grin appear on her lips as she kept her strengths to not throw up right in front of him and on his sandwiches that he made himself. she was proud of him, and him changing so much she just wanted him to change a little bit more now that she was going to drop the huge bomb on him. "aw spencer, you did? that's so sweet!" she said to him as she raised one hand to stroke his cheek softly smiling to him. she frowned a bit as the smell got worse and worse, she was about to throw up but she wasn't going to doit right in front of him. as he asked her what was wrong she got up, leaned against the tree with one hand and threw up all she had left of her breakfast, great now he probably thinking she was an anorexic or something. she sighed hard as she couldn't handle it and started crying, she couldn't stop because of the damn hormones, how they range inside of her just made her mad, even more mad and emotional, this were going to be some rough couple of months. she gasped hard as she looked to him. "i wish i could eat those... but i can't. i just can't take that smell. it make me wanna throw up like i just did." she said as she looked at it. ew gross, she didn't know how she was gonna take all of this throwing up for the next few months, it failed. she closed her eyes as she stopped crying walking over to spencer now feeling a bit better. she was going to tell him.
she sit next to him again taking a deep breath and then his hand. she placed it on her stomach and looked into his eyes, she opened her mouth a few times but she didn't know what to say to him, well she didn't know more of the house but it was all good all she had to do was say it. she closed her eyes and took a deep breath before opening her mouth one last time to actually say something, what he actually wanted to hear, the what was wrong with her. "spencer... i-i-i'm pregnant! you're going to be a daddy!" she said with a little smile on her smile, she was trying to be as optimistic while she said it to him she didn't want him to leave her, not now, she was too vulnerable at the moment, she needed spencer to be there for her not to leave her. she bit her lower lip looking down to her hands as the smell got into her nose again. "ew gross!" she said as she got up and just stodd a bit away from the place he was with the food, she just stood there looking to him. she closed her eyes for a second picturing a couple of months in time when he stomach was a bit bigger, she was walking and she fell, she started to bleed and then she fainted, no one was there to help her, she lost the baby. she couldn't stop feeling the guilt in her body, she fell she lost the baby, she killed a human being. she started to cry again looking to spencer as she woke up. wow this of being pregnant was really annoying. "spencer... please before you say anything... all i want to say is that... i love you and that you can't leave me, because i can't do this alone. i just can't!" she said to him as she walked back towards him but stopped as the sandwiches smell crepped her nose again. this wasn't going to end well. she frowned as she looked down to her hands while playing with them.

something was definitely wrong, the more that he looked over at her. her entire grin, seemed fake. off. kimberly was terrible at hiding things from him, or so it seemed. he always found it kind of easy to know when the girl was upset, even if she tried not to let it show. but she sounded proud of him anyway, when he told her he’d made the sandwiches by himself. and he smiled back at her, although his smile was cautious too. her face seemed – disgusted? perhaps was the word he was looking for. his smile wavered, watching her carefully all of a sudden. she looked like she was about to throw up again. well – that wasn’t good. was she still sick from the other day when she’d thrown up at his house? perhaps it was time she got checked out properly. it seemed like one hell of a stomach flu, and spencer was actually beginning to get genuinely worried this time. and it seemed like there was good reason to be worried when she suddenly stood up to go puke behind a tree. spencer wasn’t going to lie here and say he wasn’t a little … disturbed by this. but he was more or less, intensely sick with worry now actually. what had gotten into her? she was seriously sick. ”kim!” he called out, he jumped up after her. he moved to stand behind her. but he didn’t know what to do really. he wasn’t so experienced in these cases. at least, not when he wasn't drunk, and the one vomiting was even more so. in that case, he just kind of stumbled out of the direction of the vomit. and so, he simply patted her on the back awkwardly. ”alright – er – just let it all out there,” he murmured, trying not to look at the vomit. she had finished. but now she was crying, and spencer took it upon his own instinct to wrap his arms around her. to try and calm her down even if he was still unsure of what was going on. he couldn’t help but flash a quick, good humoured smile when she said she wouldn’t be able to eat his sandwiches, because she would end up throwing up. of course, kim, would be the only one to puke her brains out and still be concerned with whether or not he would be offended if she didn’t eat his pb & j sandwiches.
”its fine,” he said, shaking his head. the smile drooped only slightly. ”just – calm down. I’ll take you to the doctor, okay?” he replied back soothingly, the concern all too evident in his voice. they sat down, and he let her take his hand, letting it rest within hers. but his face was still pent up with concern. she seemed to be finding it hard to get the words out to explain herself, but he didn’t say anything to egg her on. only waited. well, so much for the perfect little picnic he had planned. first, she had come only to be sick behind the tree, and then she refused to eat any of his handmade sandwiches. but now she was – pregnant? pregnant pregnant pregnant. her words seemed to repeat themselves in spencer’s mind, and he stared at her blankly, as if he wasn’t quite sure what she was talking about. what the fuck did she mean by – I’m pregnant? to be pregnant, one had to have a baby, and there was no way in hell that she had a baby beneath where his hand was on her stomach. well ... actually, there was a way. it wasn’t as if spencer and her had exactly, stopped themselves from premaritial sex. but he’d used protection! he always did. it was only one time … in the heat of the moment. ”shit,” was all he said. he stood up very quickly, his hand flying off of her stomach, backing away from her with his hands in the air. he placed a hand behind his head, but kept moving, pacing back and forth. why was she saying that like a good thing? with a smile on her face?! this was not a good thing. he was – he was nineteen for fuck’s sake. nineteen! he was still technically a teen. not even allowed to legally buy alcohol, and definitely not supposed to be having a kid.
and this, my friends, was what you might call a spencer little freakout session. the guy was always so calm, laidback, without a care in the world. but this was one little bomb he couldn’t simply shake off. he refused to look at her, pacing back and forth. finally, he glanced back at kim for the briefest of seconds, only to make sure she was kidding. ”are you joking? cause if your joking, it’s not funny.” he said, his voice near pleading that she was kidding. but he couldn’t believe himself as the words came out. why would she kid about something like that? she walked back towards him, but spencer didn’t look at her when she spoke. he could tell, it wasn’t a joke to her. she was telling the truth, and him? he was going to be a fucking daddy. but he glanced back at her, if only for a silent two seconds, he stared. she expected him to leave? spencer had never been so – quiet. never not had anything to say. but right now, he didn’t even know how to get the words out, let alone what words to let out. the normally open, careless boy was closing himself off from her, and he looked away again. he wasn’t sure, but – there was a really horrible feeling in the very pit of his stomach. it was unknown to him. nerves? anxiety? he didn’t like it one bit. it took him a minute too long to respond to her but he finally stopped moving to do it. ”kim … I can’t be a fucking – dad - ” he announced coolly. he’d never used such tone with her, and it made him feel, and probably sound, like an asshole. he was still not making eye contact with the blonde. but this was all he could say to her. it was probably enough for her to know what was going on though. the demented questions and disbelief going through his mind. ”I can’t” he repeated, finally glancing back up at her once more.
