nice; Colton's a nice guy, until you piss him off. Then he might as well be the devil himself. When angry, he has an acid tongue and the predisposition to speak before he even begins to think, and hurts people's feelings in the process, though he'll often go back and apologize after he's cooled off a bit

quiet; He's pretty quiet, unless he's around his closest friends and band mates. He figures that the less he speaks, the less likely it is for someone new to get into his life, so the less likely he'll be to get hurt. He'd rather just stick with the people he knows won't hurt him, than risk someone new coming in and tearing him apart.

loyal; He's as loyal as people come. Nothing can break his bond with his friends, and he would do anything for them. They are very much his second family, and he would gladly bend over backwards to protect them and even take a bullet for them.

clean; For a twenty year old male, it's not very common for one to be neat and clean, but Colton can't stand a mess. It's very rare that he won't pick up after himself or wash his dishes when he's done with them. He's also been known to wash the dishes in the tour bus, just because he hates messes.

independent; Ever since he was young, he showed an independent streak, preferring to do things on his own before asking help from anyone, even his parents. Even then, he hated asking for help. Once he was old enough to get a job and save up money to buy his own things, he did just that.

hard headed; He's as hard headed as any single person can get. Once his mind is made up, there's no persuading him to change it, at all. No amount of pleading or talking can get him to change his mind, ever. Once he has it in his head he wants to do something, he goes for it.

Colton Alexander Bailey was born on August first to a mother that was fifteen years old and a father who wasn't even there for the birth. During the nine months of carrying her child, his mother had made the well thought out decision that she could not take care of the baby boy she was carrying in her womb, and she chose to give him up for adoption. Nine months later, Colton came into the world, screaming and kicking, and was placed into the arms of Sarah and Mitchell Bailey, his new parents. Years passed, and they raised the boy as their very own, considering him as their son. His elementary school years went by uneventfully, as well as did most of his middle school. It was apparent, even at a young age, that he was very independent. He preferred to do things on his own, rather than have help from anyone, sometimes even including his parents, despite the fact that he was very close to them. As he entered high school, he began to notice that not everything was okay between his parents. He began noticing his father come in later and later at night, and he occasionally found his mother crying silently in her bedroom.

After a couple of years, his concern finally got the best of him, and he asked his mother what was going on with her and his father. By this time, he was in the eleventh grade. His mother informed him that his father had been seeing other women behind her back, but that she had never been able to prove it until a few days prior. Devastated and shocked, he confronted his father that night. The result was disastrous. Upset by his own son confronting him, a full scale fight broke out between the two. It was the first time Mitchell had struck his own son without punishing, and after he landed the blow, he stumbled back, shocked at what he had done. Standing there with a bleeding nose, Colton glared at the man he had called father, he shook his head and walked away without another word, locking himself in the room. It was only a few days later that Mitchell took his own life, unable to deal with the way his life had gone. Angry and confused, Colton stuffed every emotion he was feeling away, and didn't even go to the funeral. Afterwards, he grew quiet and reserved for the following two years. The only people who could ever actuallly get through to him were his closest friends and his mother.

At nineteen years old, he met a girl that spun his world completely around and dragged him out of his shell. Two weeks after meeting her, they began to date. While he had dated other girls before, none had made him feel quite like this one did. After four months together, he learned that she was pregnant. A month after that, she left him, and moved away with her parents, refusing to keep in touch with him. The last he heard from her, was a brief phone call, informing him that his son had been born and his name was Lucas Brennan Howard. Shortly before his twentieth birthday, moved out of his mother's house and into his own apartment, despite her pleas for him not to go. He simply told her that it was time for him to leave home and chase his dream of making music. He informed her of the audition he had gotten to be guitarist of a low level famous band. His excitement brought a smile to her face, and she allowed him to leave the house and get his own apartment. A year has passed since then, and now at twenty years old, he's the guitarist for Unfinished Business and is loving every single minute of it. The band has become his second family, the brothers he never had. He still keeps in touch with his mother and his sister, and is currently trying to find his biological parents and his son.
